What is a Witch?
Jul. 28th, 2011 02:24 pmA Witch is Generally
A person who engages in earth-based, elemental, or practically/physically grounded magic or magical thinking, often according to a system of rules or guidelines. Magical thinking is generally defined as thought or belief that links actions, expressions, or creations with specific events, though there is no scientific (or, for our purposes, canonical) basis for such.
A Witch Might Be
Of any sex, gender, sexual orientation, or gender orientation.
Of any race or, sometimes, species.
A member of the Wiccan religion.
A pagan.
A practictioner of magic
...or sometimes of magick.
A figure in folklore or fairy tales
A character in a play.
A person who self-identifies as a witch.
A Witch Is Not Necessarily
A woman

... or old and haglike.
Always Chaotic Evil
... or Lawful Good.
A member of a specific race or culture

Basically...

Date: 2011-08-03 04:46 am (UTC)Neither of these makes a difference to me signing up; I'd just like to have the FAQ on the site that's easiest for me to check. It was very confusing getting a pointer to this from my readlist and there's effectively no information here.
Also, the three signup posts have no titles, so they look pretty much identical. I can tell from the textbox that they're author/artist/cheerleader&beta signups, but I had to copy/paste to figure that out.

Date: 2011-08-05 04:25 pm (UTC)I'll cross-post the FAQ to DW and keep that in mind about titles; fics will be hosted wherever the writer chooses to host them, then linked when the fic is posted to the comm with header information TBD, probably a variant on the standard.
At some point when life calms down, too, or after September 1st we'll see about making an AO3 collection. Two of us are entirely new to modding a Big Bang, so there's a lot we're learning from scratch.
